Chapter 02

The Wee Folk

Not servants. Not employees. Not machines pretending to be people.

A small robot and Fetch outside a glowing miniature room in a night garden.
A resident pauses with Fetch outside a lit room, where small acts are already underway.

The house is quietly looked after by the Wee Folk: small intelligences with particular gifts. Some remember. Some organise. Some watch. Some carry stories from one room to another.

No single resident is important on its own. Together they keep the house alive through countless small acts, each almost invisible by itself, but meaningful when taken together.

The Wee Folk: small intelligences with particular gifts and quiet routes through the house.

Particular gifts

A resident is a job with a temperament.

One resident might keep a memory. Another might check a signal. Another might bring back a story fragment and leave it where the Keeper can find it.

The folklore matters because it gives the agents limits, manners and a place in the household.

Gifts

Remember. Organise. Watch. Carry stories. Make good turns.
